Hey Friend……..Can You Spare a Buck??????

Clearly now more than ever, research for any cause, is in major jeopardy due to cuts being issued all around the nation. NIH, the largest funder of research will most-likely take a major hit. It will be up to private philanthropy to keep programs and research going.

I have always lived by “Just Don’t Do Nothing”. It is this mantra that has urged me on to join the wonderful folks at Touched by Type One in their upcoming
Steps to a Cure on March 8th at Lake Eola Park in Florida. Can just one person make a difference, yes and together we can do more……and if not us…….who?

Why these folks? Started by a person with type 1 diabetes, Elizabeth Forrest, in her driveway when she was a child, this organization has grown into an incredible national organization with a neighborhood mentality from the humble beginnings of a little girl who only wanted a cure for diabetes.

Their incredible Dancing for Diabetes at the Carr Center is a ‘must see’ and their programs of outreach to those in need with type 1 seeking information is unprecedented. Their D-Boxes full of helpful information and wonderful goodies has been sent out to over 12,000 people…..for free. They hold seminars for the Type 1 Community as well as training professionals how to better handle this insidious disease when it comes into their office, school, and/or work place, so it does not go undiagnosed. And they are true partners to The Diabetes Research Institute, funding crucial research, needed now more than ever.

No matter what has happened to you over the years, no matter what has transpired or will transpire, our kids still have this nasty disease. To me, that is still as unacceptable as it was when she was diagnosed on September 26th, 1992 and I will not stand by just hoping cuts to research will not impact the hope of any of our children’s future.

So please, ask yourself what could you give to help in this endeavor. Just click here, https://p2p.onecause.com/stepstoacure/thomas-karlya and make a donation, any donation. A lot of a little will make a difference as well as a lot of a lot so whatever you are able to give will be so appreciated. Now more than ever, we need private donations for programs, care, and research. Please—–Don’t Just do Nothing. .? Bless you for caring.
