So there are just a few days left. What did you do this month in recognition of diabetes awareness month? If you did something, let us know what you did. Did you wear blue? Did you write to a congressman? Did you go to a fund-raising event? Did you run a fund-raising event? What did you do?
Recently someone said that they did nothing for diabetes awareness month and it was enough to just take care of their own child. No tome. No money. No time to do anything but take care of their child. I suggested to download a poster and hang it in the local library.
Whether she did, or not, I am unsure. But here is something t think about, whether we agree with it or not; no one…No One will advocate for this disease more than those who live it or with it. NO. ONE. Simply stated, if we don’t do it, it won’t get done. You can start en entirely new organization, you can be the number one fund-raiser for the organization you support, or you can simply hang a poster of awareness……but doing nothing will help no one.
So with three days left in this Diabetes Awareness Month, do something as simple as hang an awareness poster when you go grocery shopping but doing nothing keeps us exactly where we are……no awareness, no money to support a cause, no education…..if we all ‘pull a little’ no one has to pull a lot more.
And if you did do something this month, please share it because you might inspire someone else……nothing too big……nothing too small.
Think about it. Just don’t do nothing.
